Intent
My commitment is to all students attending the schools in the Galt Elementary School District. Additionally, I am committed to being fair and accessible to the parents of our students. Finally, my commitment extends to the administrators and teachers of our seven school sites to promote the most successful outcomes for our children.
Experience
I have expertise regarding school facilities that would benefit the community. With the current school reconfiguration, I have the resources available to assist the district with revising the district's facilities master plan to not only ensure a successful transition today, but plan effectively for the future.
My position with the California Department of Education allows me to see the practices of other school districts. I am a big believer in learning from others rather than “reinventing the wheel.” Being aware of trends that are working in other districts throughout California would help keep our schools on the cutting edge.
I also have experience in the classroom as I was a substitute teacher with the Vacaville and Fairfield-Suisun Unified School districts. This was a very rewarding experience as I worked in teaching environments for every grade level (K-12) and programs (special education, drama, foreign language, and physical education) imaginable. It also gave me insight to learning from a teacher's perspective.
Education
I have a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco. My education taught me how public organizations, like school districts, work. I believe this experience will help me make educated decisions that are in the best interest of our children.
